The Half Cardigan Knit has been imagined as a wardrobe essential taking heavy inspiration from chunky thick sweaters of sailors. The simple mariner aesthetic was further explored with the addition of a velcro badge on the left chest. The badge can be switched out for a different one as the wearer pleases, or removed completely for a minimalist, brandless approach.

Our Moon Logo Knit is a very light summery knit that can be worn directly on the skin. Its lightness and direct sporty shapes make it the perfect bridge between the BORDERLINE jerseys and the knitwear category as a whole. Its yarn is certified FSC (Forest Stewardship Council) meaning that it comes from a wood-based pulp extracted from sustainably-managed forests thereby protecting its biodiversity.

Iconic All Over Moon motif adorns this blended FSC-approved viscose and wool yarn jacquard knit. The shapes present in this family run in parallel to those in the wider Moon Logo range and serve to accentuate the collection’s idea of translation and metamorphosis, almost as if our iconic Recycled Moon Jersey magically transformed into knitwear. The line has a strong sportswear dynamic with the addition of thumbholes in some of the pieces. This wool blend jacquard knit is slightly warmer and thicker than the Moon Logo Knit, however, but also so incredibly soft that it can also be worn directly on the skin.

All the cotton Marine Serre sources for Borderline is GOTS-certified — this world-leading textile processing standard chiming with the house’s own well-known commitment to protecting the planet. In terms of the silhouettes across these ranges, we wanted to offer a wide range of everyday styles that are directly inspired by the world of sportswear. Our Moon Logo Jersey lines come in a range of traditional colours (white, black and grey, but in most cases lilac too) spun out across t-shirts, tanks and dresses, as well as underwear. These garments are finished in the classic way familiar from sportwear garments, with our Moon Logo in raised embroidery just below the neckline. Some of the Recycled Cotton Jerseys (lilac and grey) feature our MS Sport logo — a print moon with Marine Serre embroidered above, and we have also expanded our palette with seasonal colours such as red and blue, bearing a Gradient All Over Moon print.

Graphic-print sweatshirts adopt the same codes and the same ironic attitude as their t-shirt counterparts. Although just as present in our day-to-day lives, it was only last season that we upcycled them for the first time — an innovation which wasn’t easy to pull off, as high-quality sweatshirts are harder to track down. Garments are sourced in classic black, all the better to make the graphics pop, before being deconstructed and recomposed in a mosaic design that highlights each individual print while setting them in new constellations. In keeping with the desire to honour the garments’ origins, we have chosen to launch this new range with classic American staples: a hoodie, sweatpants and drawstring shorts, with a cropped sweatshirt for women. Sweatshirts have not been overdyed for ecological reasons so extra care was required to get the right shades during sourcing. The MS Regenerated logo is prominently stamped on each garment. Due to the artisanal nature of the regeneration process, each piece is unique.

As it uses the same FSC-certified yarns as our Moon Logo Knit, it benefits from a high degree of breathability and can also be worn directly against the skin. This knit is perfect for an off-season wardrobe — an invitation to the wearer to play with different styling options and, just as is the case with the Borderline offering at large, to layer up with different items from the collection.
