Denims are rich in personality, they all carry different stories through generations and individuals; denims tell the history of the modern world. Marine Serre is a storyteller, disassembling and reassembling this popular material exclusively from denim legs, 100% cotton, to create one of a kind regenerated pieces, each of them revealing new unique stories. Denim is a Marine Serre’s core material that comes in shades of blue, laser printed with the iconic crescent moon, signed with a jacron patch made of fruit waste sealed at the back of jean trousers, jackets, dresses, and skirts that have been transformed into ambassadors for the Marine Serre brand, telling their own unique stories

REGENERATED DENIM JEANS

REGENERATED DENIM SAND

This hallmark fabric for the house embodies Marine Serre’s role as a modern-day storyteller, spinning new narratives from carefully sourced jeans that are then sorted, sand-washed, cut and regenerated into one-of-a-kind couture garments. These artisanal, upcycled pieces feature reptile-effect textured leather details, lending them an organic feel. At the same time, variations in hue arising from the different kinds of denim deployed create pleasing tone-on-tone effects. There’s a playful and self-referential quality to the leather details, which assume the form of curves, flames or even, in some cases, curl around to adopt the contours of the Marine Serre Moon.

Upcycled Denim Loose Jeans

Moon Faded Fleece Grey

All the cotton Marine Serre sources for Borderline is GOTS-certified — this world-leading textile processing standard chiming with the house’s own well-known commitment to protecting the planet. In terms of the silhouettes across these ranges, we wanted to offer a wide range of everyday styles that are directly inspired by the world of sportswear. Our Moon Logo Jersey lines come in a range of traditional colours (white, black and grey, but in most cases lilac too) spun out across t-shirts, tanks and dresses, as well as underwear. These garments are finished in the classic way familiar from sportwear garments, with our Moon Logo in raised embroidery just below the neckline.

Moon Jacquard Knit Grey

Iconic All Over Moon motif adorns this blended FSC-approved viscose and wool yarn jacquard knit. The shapes present in this family run in parallel to those in the wider Moon Logo range and serve to accentuate the collection’s idea of translation and metamorphosis, almost as if our iconic Recycled Moon Jersey magically transformed into knitwear. The line has a strong sportswear dynamic with the addition of thumbholes in some of the pieces. This wool blend jacquard knit is slightly warmer and thicker than the Moon Logo Knit, however, but also so incredibly soft that it can also be worn directly on the skin.
